Ms. P

Dear LIFE staff,

Before I got the ramp, I couldn’t go outside, I couldn’t go to the grocery store, I couldn’t go to the library, I couldn’t go to church, I couldn’t go anywhere! I was totally housebound unless I paid someone to get me in and out of the house. I have 5 high, steep steps leading to my mobile home. I couldn’t get up the steps without help. My knees have no cartilage, so walking is extremely difficult and painful. I sometimes had to crawl up the steps. I couldn’t afford to pay for a ramp myself. My mobile home payments take half my check. I waited a little over a year for a ramp. Since I got my ramp, I can go outside in my wheelchair. I can get to my van and go to the library and to church. Life has improved a lot since I got the ramp. Sitting in the house all day is like being in prison. Now I can get in and out and enjoy the sun. I have a little Pomeranian who is paralyzed on one side. He uses the ramp too. He appreciates it as much as I do. He barks at anyone who tries to mess with it. Thank you for the ramp.

Sincerely,
Ms. P
