Thank you to the Secretary of State for sending a voting machine to LIFE to allow us to demo it for consumers, and to Sharyl Sutton for her instruction around it’s usage. Terrific job by LIFE staff, especially Denise Howard who was instrumental in setting this up, and Board members, especially Barry Helmey who participated in the event (and makes a video cameo), for supporting the effort to help make this a successful demonstration of the voting machines. Most importantly, LIFE’s consumers provided important insights into potential issues, thereby educating the Elections Board in advance of the election to allow them to tweak procedures and instructions to address concerns. This is yet another example of LIFE’s community collaborations furthering our mission of promoting independent living and advancing community change for everyone.
