LIFE, Savannah Center for Independent Living

The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) entered into an agreement with Friends of Disabled Adults and Children, Too! (FODAC) to partner with the Centers for Independent Living across Georgia to provide Georgians with disabilities improved access to durable medical equipment (DME). FODAC and LIFE agreed to collaborate to provide refurbished DME and assistive technology to individuals with disabilities to enhance their quality of life.
The Centers across Georgia referred 139 people to FODAC who received 222 items of DME worth an estimated value of $233,650.
LIFE submitted requests for DME through the ReUse database. FODAC made deliveries and pickups as requested monthly. Since October 2024, 11 people were referred to FODAC and they received 14 DME items worth an estimated value of $25,300. Your clients received items such as hospital beds, rollators, manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, shower chairs, pediatric stander, elevated toilet seat, and cushions.
