Live Well. Feel Empowered. Join “Living Well in the Community” at LIFE, Inc.!

Are you ready to take charge of your health, happiness, and independence - your way?
Living Well in the Community (LWIC) is a FREE, workshop series created by and for people with disabilities who want to build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Facilitated by trained LIFE staff, this interactive program helps you strengthen life skills, discover new strategies for self-care, and connect with others on the same journey toward wellness.
Who Can Join
Any adult with a disability living within LIFE’s service area is welcome!
Space is limited - we can enroll up to 12 participants per series, so don't wait to register!

What You’ll Learn
This isn’t your average “wellness class.”
LWIC helps you create real, lasting change — focused on your goals, your pace, and your strengths.

It's not just for retirees!

As we continue celebrating the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), join LIFE for a free presentation exploring how AARP advocates for accessibility, healthy aging, livable communities, and issues that matter to people with disabilities of all ages.

Whether you're already an AARP member, thinking about joining, or simply curious about what the organization offers, this presentation will help you better understand the resources, advocacy, and opportunities available.

Topics Include:

  • The history of AARP and how it got started
  • How AARP's work connects with disability rights and the ADA
  • Who can join AARP (it's not just for retirees!)
  • Membership benefits and available resources
  • How to become a member
  • Questions and discussion

Presented by David Daniels, Treasurer of the Wayne County Jesup AARP Chapter, and John Steede, a longtime member of the Wayne County Jesup AARP Chapter.
