This will be a drop-in event from 10am - 2pm. 4:00 pm: Neurodiversity Is Beautiful Social Peer Group Neurodiversity Is Beautiful Social Peer Group meets every Tuesday evening in person at LIFE, located at 4811 Waters Avenue in Savannah. This is not an open/drop-in group, you must register to participate. Empowering neurodiverse adults and young adults to develop a local support network of peer support. COHORT #1 is full, but we are enrolling for the next two cohorts! The CDSMP is a six-week, interactive program designed by Stanford University and facilitated by trained staff members. Participants learn how to manage symptoms like fatigue, pain and depression. Participants develop skills through action planning and feedback, behavior modeling, problem solving techniques, and decision making. 12:30 pm: LIFE Social Club Special Event with Jepson Center at Telfair Museum – Please join us for the Social Club Special Event for a field trip to Telfair Museum! Telfair Museums inclusive, community-based outreach programming is partnering with LIFE for this fun opportunity! This is part of the community quilt project Inspired by Maya Freelon’s tissue paper artwork in the exhibition Emancipation: The Unfinished Project of Liberation. This FREE, five-week, peer-led, workshop series is designed for adults with any disability-type to cultivate healthy choices and build effective skills that they can implement in their everyday lives to support healthier choices, sustainably. This workshop series is much more than just another "health and wellness" workshop, it's a comprehensive, whole-person approach to growing lasting skills and attitudes for achieving self-identified goals that are unique to each participant. LIFE is honored to be chosen once again to facilitate this fantastic program. We can enroll up to 12 adults with any disability type and we meet twice a week in person or by Zoom. This month we'll be "touring France" for the armchair travel! LIFE, Inc's Screven office has partnered with Lynn Joyner, Dementia Care Specialist from The Heart of Georgia Area Agency on Aging, to present a Memory Café! A Memory Café is a safe, supportive environment open to any individual experiencing the journey of Dementia, as well as their caregivers. It includes relaxing activities geared toward removing the daily focus of Dementia and allowing inclusion and socialization. Activities may include: “armchair travel", themed arts and crafts, music, etc. February 11th from 1-3:00 pm at New Life Church, 1255 Joey Williamson Road in Jesup, GA.
