July 1, 2023(2 events) All day: CLOSED for Labor Day All day LIFE's offices will be closed on Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day. All day: July is Disability Pride Month 2023 All day What is the meaning of Disability Pride Month?
Disability pride is both a social and political movement that seeks to promote the empowerment of people with all types of disabilities. The movement emerged as a response to the stigmatization, discrimination, and marginalization experienced by individuals with disabilities in society. Importantly, the disability pride movement aims to challenge ableism, which refers to the systematic discrimination against, and oppression of, people with disabilities.
